Martin County High School Athletic Director Mark Cowles is pleased to announce Mark Corley as the new Tigers’ New Head Swimming and Diving Coach.

“We are very excited to bring Coach Corley on board,” said Cowles.

“He brings a wide variety of experiences at a variety of levels.  His success speaks for itself and we are confident that he is going to continue the success of Tiger Swimming and Diving”

Coach Mark Corley Career Accomplishments/Highlights:

Coach Mark Corley has been a professional coach since 1984. He is certified by the American Swimming Coaches Association as an ASCA Level 5 Coach. By attaining Level 5 status, Coach Corley has demonstrated education, experience and achievement. As a Level 5 coach, this places him in the top 3-5% of competitive swimming coaches in the USA. (ASCA certifies coaches; levels 1-5, with 5 being the highest level attainable).

Prior to his time in Florida, Corley was coaching in the Midwest.

Coach Corley has coached numerous Iowa All-Star Teams and Iowa Zone teams, both as an assistant and as a head coach.

Corley’s 2007 West Des Moines Valley Girls High School Team scored the most points in the history of the Iowa Girls State Swim Meet, and the 200 Free Relay swam to (at the time) the 3rd fastest time in the history of United States High School Swimming.

In 2007, he had the honor of being selected Iowa Swimming Coach of the Year.

Coach Mark has had multiple individuals and relay teams qualify for USA Swimming National Championships and USA Olympic Trials.

Corley has been an active triathlete since 1984. He has well over 125 triathlon finishes, including eight Ironman Triathlons and is a USA Triathlon certified coach.

Corley is married to Lisa Corley and they have three children.
